Multitools
A multitool packs pliers, a blade, screwdrivers and a dozen more functions into one pocket-sized frame. One tool on the belt replaces a whole toolbox in the woods.
Compare models by tool count. Most run between 12 and 20. Check that the blades lock open and that the key tools deploy one-handed. A full-size multitool weighs about 200 to 300 g. Keychain formats stay under 100 g. A belt sheath, often MOLLE-compatible, keeps it within reach. For conscripts and reservists on exercises it is among the most useful personal additions for keeping issued gear running. A pocket knife covers dedicated cutting. Heavier camp work belongs to shovels, saws and axes.
