At the heavy end sit ripstop tactical pants with knee-pad pockets, reinforced seats and thought through pocket systems. At the light end, stretch-fabric EDC and hiking pants that pass unnoticed in town. Three things decide the choice: fabric mix (polycotton wears more comfortably, synthetics dry faster), whether you need knee reinforcement, and pocket layout matched to what you actually carry. Cuts run from Helikon-Tex to UF Pro. For summer, a line of shorts shares the same fabric and pocket logic.
