Chest Rigs
A chest rig is a lightweight harness that carries magazines and essentials on your chest without ballistic protection (exceptions!) — the go-to platform when a plate carrier would be too hot, too heavy or simply not required.
Most rigs hold 4–8 rifle magazines plus admin and utility space. Compare X- versus H-shaped harnesses for weight distribution, split-front designs that open like a jacket, and micro rigs that carry the bare minimum. Several models double as placards that clip straight onto a plate carrier, so one purchase covers two setups. Helikon-Tex and Direct Action both make proven options. If the built-in slots run short, extra magazine pouches or other pouches mount straight onto the MOLLE surface.
