Trauma Shears
Cutting clothing away from an injury has to be fast and safe. That is exactly what trauma shears are built for. The blunt lower tip slides along the skin while the serrated blades cut through heavy fabric, webbing and boot laces.
Typical lengths run 14 to 19 cm. Longer shears give more leverage. Shorter pairs ride better in the outer pocket of a first aid kit. Some models add a strap cutter or a glass breaker. Outside emergencies they earn their keep on packaging, tape and cord. In a kit they pair with other equipment such as gloves and a foil blanket.
