Spec'd in a military-ready color, the Insulated Static V Recon is the insulated version of Klymit's proven Static V design. The chambers are filled with light, durable Klymalite™ synthetic insulation that slows heat loss to the cold ground, and dynamic side rails cradle you comfortably on the pad for a more restful sleep. Built for field and backcountry use, it's light, packs small, and inflates quickly once you reach your site.

An honest word on warmth, because we print real numbers: under the industry-wide ASTM F3340-18 standard (adopted in 2020), this pad measures an R-value of 1.9. Klymit's earlier in-house method rated the same pad at 4.4 — the pad never changed, the measuring standard did. In practice R 1.9 makes this a solid three-season pad with more shoulder-season margin than the uninsulated Static V (R 1.3). It is not a standalone winter pad: for sleeping on frozen ground, place it on top of a closed-cell foam mat — R-values stack, and the foam doubles as puncture protection.

COMFORTABLE

• Body Mapping Technology: The V-shaped chamber design delivers support and comfort in any sleeping position — side, stomach or back.

• Side Rails: Integrated into the construction, side rails center you on the pad and inhibit air movement while tossing and turning.

• Deep Weld Patterning: Unlike traditional pads that flatten your sleeping bag's fill, deep welds create expansion zones that let the bag loft fully beneath you for added thermal comfort.

• Twist-Pull Valve: Inflation in 10–15 breaths, opens wide for rapid, complete deflation, and seals securely against inadvertent opening.
