Choosing comes down to two questions. Get the correct rank and the correct format. Hook-backed insignia suit modern combat uniforms. Sewn versions belong on dress uniform. In the field, wear subdued colours. Reservists should keep insignia current, because at a reserve exercise the uniform must match the rank you actually hold. The selection here is narrow.
