Food & Water Containers
Durable food and water containers are the unsung part of any kit. Bottles, thermoses and food boxes here survive drops and frost. They also shrug off daily knocking about in a pouch.
The category spans water bottles and military-style canteens. It also holds thermoses plus lunch boxes and mess tins under food containers. Match material to use. Single-wall stainless steel can be heated over a fire. BPA-free plastic saves weight. Vacuum-insulated double walls keep drinks hot for up to 24 hours. Conscripts and reservists should look at NATO-pattern canteen systems that ride in standard bottle pouches.
