FPV Drone F42 7" Starter DIY Kit

FPV Drone F42 7" Starter DIY Kit is a 7-inch FPV platform developed in collaboration with the Estonian Aviation Academy, designed for those who want to build, learn, and fly – not just unbox and go. This is a true Do It Yourself kit: you assemble it, wire it, configure it, and in the process gain a real understanding of how your aircraft works.

At its core is the Pilotix PT7 V3 carbon fiber frame with a 320 mm wheelbase, 6 mm thick arms, and dual-plate construction (2 mm top plate, 3 mm bottom plate). The rigid carbon structure is built to handle training flights, FPV practice, and work missions with payloads up to 2–2.5 kg, while still maintaining a balanced 7" build.

The flight stack consists of an F405 V3 flight controller and a 60A (70A burst) Bettle 3060 ESC, providing clean control and reliable power delivery, even under aggressive maneuvers. Thrust comes from 2807–1300KV motors paired with HQProp 7x3.5x3 tri-blade props – a combination aimed at efficient 6S performance with the included 8000mAh Li-ion 10C battery.

For video, the kit includes a Pilotix R1600 5.8G 1.6W VTX and a long 5.8G RHCP SMA antenna, offering a strong FPV signal for extended-range flights. The H1 camera provides a clear FPV feed, while navigation and position are supported by the MATEKSYS M10Q-5883 GPS with compass, enabling advanced flight modes depending on your firmware setup.

Control is handled by an ELRS 2.4G Nano receiver – a modern, low-latency, long-range radio link ideally suited to FPV platforms. All together, the F42 kit forms a capable base for training, long-range cruising, mapping, inspection tasks, or payload testing where you want both endurance and flexibility.

This kit is aimed at pilots and builders who want more than a pre-built rig. By assembling the F42 yourself, you learn wiring, stack layout, frame assembly, and system tuning the same way it’s done on professional FPV and work platforms.
