An admin pouch keeps the small things in one place: map, pen, phone, batteries, light. Without one they scatter across three different pockets. A tidy admin pouch saves time and nerves on exercise.
Mount it where your hands reach without taking the vest off — usually chest or belt. Inside, look for a clear map sleeve and elastic loops for small items. Laser-cut models are slimmer; classic MOLLE webbing takes more abuse. For a phone there are also dedicated phone holders.
