Neck Gaiters
A neck gaiter, often called a buff, is the multitool of outdoor clothing. The same simple tube works as a neck warmer, a headband, a face cover or an under-helmet cap. Reconfiguring it takes a second.
Material decides the mission. Thin synthetics dry fast and wear comfortably year-round. Fleece and merino versions add winter warmth. Camouflage patterns break up the pale shape of a face and neck on an observation post. Many members of Kaitseliit, the Estonian Defence League, keep one permanently in a pocket. Remember that synthetic fabric melts in heat. Near a campfire, prefer a wool version. The scarves range also covers the classic shemagh. In winter, a warm hat completes the set.
