A balaclava covers head, face and neck in one garment — wind protection first, and the quickest way to hide a pale face on terrain where skin shine gives away a position.
The eight-model range sorts by thickness: thin synthetic balaclavas work as summer sweat liners and fit under a helmet, while fleece and merino versions handle real cold. Opening style sets the flexibility — one-hole designs convert to a neck tube or beanie, three-hole cuts sit more securely on the face. Dark solids and camouflage prints suit field training use. In hard frost a thin balaclava also layers well under a winter hat.
