A week-long trek or a fully loaded exercise needs volume. A 60L+ backpack carries your whole life. Tent, sleeping system, clothes and several days of food all ride inside.
The range covers military rucksacks from 60 to over 100 litres. Many of them come with detachable pocket system and MOLLE attachments, that makes them configurable for the assignment at hand. At this size the carry system decides comfort. Look for a stiff frame or framesheet, wide padded shoulder straps and a proper hip belt. A good hip belt takes most of a 25 to 50 kg load off your shoulders. Berghaus MMPS, Tasmanian Tiger and Mystery Ranch are the best-known names in the class. A lighter three-day load fits a 30L to 60L backpack. Every size class lives under bags and backpacks.
